Short Bio:
Magdalena Atkinson – a Polish singer – songwriter, Shakti Dance teacher and a dreamer based in South England.
Her solo music is an original and unique blend of modern folk with elements of progressive new age. At her solo performances she plays the piano, hammered dulcimer, guitar and the drums, inviting the audience to drift with her to the magical world of romance and magic or to join in a co-creation of the soundscape with singing along and drumming.
She published 2 solo albums: Beauty & Power (2016) Love & Light (2019) and together with her band – Magdalena and the Mystical Birds – Lyric Lockdown Live (2021).

Longer bio:
Magdalena was born and raised in Poland. She began singing at an early age and eventually trained as a classical singer. Later, while studying music at university, she joined a seven-piece band called Elipsa, going on to become their main singer-songwriter. However, she soon abandoned her musical ambitions by surrendering to her overpowering desire to travel around the world – eventually arriving in England in 2004.
After a decade of silence, her desire for creating music & performing was re-ignited. She specialized in French Chansons, performing with jazz pianist Philip Clouts – and at the same time working on her original music (singing, playing the piano, hammered dulcimer, guitar and the drums). She trained as Shakti Dance teacher which further freed her creativity and self-expression. She recorded 2 solo albums: Beauty & Power (2016) Love & Light (2019) together with a producer Steve Jones, which lead them to a creation of their band – Magdalena and the Mystical Birds and their album- Lyric Lockdown Live (2021).
She offers chanting & drumming workshops (Thrive and Om Shanti) and Shakti dance classes, incorporating her original music, as well as solo and band performances across UK and in Poland.
