Sophie Ruffer

Sophie is a creative facilitator who loves upcycling everyday odds and ends, often things destined for landfill, into something fun and beautiful. She runs art clubs in residential settings and has led workshops at retreats. Sophie likes to create playful, inclusive, and relaxing spaces where people can experiment, explore their creativity, and enjoy the process of making. She enjoys helping everyone, especially those who don’t think they’re “arty,” to turn ordinary things into something special.

Workshop 1

Trash to Treasure Workshop

Come and get creative! We’ll be upcycling everyday items into brilliant things. You can make “a special pot” to store your little treasures or you might like to make a simple instrument to play with at Freezone. It’s totally your choice. We will be using washi tapes, pretty papers, stickers, paint markers, ribbons, and more to create something really cool to take home.

Age range: All ages welcome. Younger children may need a parent to help

Length (mins): 90 minutes

Workshop 2

Pebble Art Workshop

We will be turning seaside pebbles into tiny works of art! Add silly faces, animals, patterns, words or symbols and let your imagination run wild. Drop in, get creative, and take home your own special pebble as a memory of your time at Freezone.

Age range: All ages, younger children may need an adult’s help

Length (mins): 90 minutes
