Ness Sherry
Ness is a yoga teacher with over 20 years’ teaching experience. Four years ago, she returned to her ancestral home of Dorset, where she now teaches regular classes and workshops in person and online.
Her teaching is rooted in enquiry rather than instruction — exploring how we feel in a posture, why we’re practising, and what we’re actually cultivating through yoga. Rather than focusing on achieving shapes, Ness invites students to listen inwardly, sense alignment from the inside out, and move in relationship with breath, gravity, and attention.
She is deeply interested in how yoga supports us through all stages of life, offering an approach that is accessible, grounded, and quietly transformative — creating space for curiosity, self-trust, and embodied awareness to grow over time.
Workshop 1
Experiencing the Energetics of the Pose
This workshop invites you to explore yoga from the inside out. Rather than focusing on achieving external shapes, we’ll tune into how a posture arrives when breath, weight, and attention are organised with clarity and ease.
Using familiar yoga postures, you’ll be guided to sense internal alignment, energetic direction, and the subtle relationship between your body and the ground. The emphasis is on listening rather than fixing — noticing where effort is helpful, where it’s habitual, and where it can soften.
The practice is slow, accessible, and adaptable, making it suitable for a wide range of bodies and experience levels. It offers a practical way to develop trust in what you feel, supporting greater ease and stability both on and off the mat.
This workshop stands on its own, and also complements Magical Alignment, offering a deeper exploration of how awareness shapes movement.
Age range: All ages welcome
Length (mins): 75 mins
Workshop 2
Magical Alignment: When the Body Organises Itself
What happens when you stop trying to make a pose work — and allow the body to organise itself?
This workshop explores alignment as an internal process rather than an external set of rules. Using familiar yoga postures, we’ll investigate how subtle shifts in breath, centre, and energetic direction can create more space, support, and coherence — without force or strain.
The session encourages curiosity and responsiveness, helping you recognise how the body naturally finds balance when effort and awareness are in relationship. The practice is gentle yet revealing, supporting those who want to move with greater intelligence and adaptability.
Suitable for all levels, this workshop offers tools that can be applied across different styles of yoga and everyday movement.
This workshop can be experienced on its own, and also pairs well with Experiencing the Energetics of the Pose for those wishing to explore the work more deeply.
Age range: All ages welcome
Length (mins):75 mins
